now AdSense serving multiple ad networks

This is an email sent from google adsense a few days ago. possible for those of you who have joined with google adsense as well as receive notification that I received.

Hi,

We have launched a new capability in AdSense allowing Google-certified ad networks compete directly within AdSense, which means that advertisers from these third-party networks will be able to compete with AdWords advertisers to show on the Google Content Network.

These new capabilities will automatically be enabled for your account, and you'll see a new section in your Ad Review Center where you can allow or block specific ad networks or all networks except AdWords. Please note that we'll gradually be adding new ad networks to AdSense accounts over the next few months, so you won't see any immediate impact on your ads or your earnings.

To ensure the quality of the ads that appear on AdSense publisher websites, Google will certify all participating ad networks for adherence to our standards for user privacy, ad quality, and speed. Some participating ad networks use targeting methods similar to Google's interest-based advertising to show more relevant ads to users on the sites they visit. These ad networks won't be permitted to collect data from your site for the purpose of subsequent interest-based advertising, but we'll allow networks that comply with user privacy guidelines to show ads using these tools. Publishers can opt out of user interest targeting from these ad networks, and Google has changed our requirements for third-party ad serving to reflect this.

We are currently only accepting ads from Google-certified ad networks in North America and Europe, but we will make this feature available to ad networks in additional parts of the world in the future.

Best Tips to Generate Money from Adsense

Sharon Housley gave out top Adsense tips to help webmasters or bloggers profit from Google Adsense to generate money online using websites. The main ideas of these tips are summarized here.
  • Sites rank better on search engines if they have specific niche and clear theme and therefore will get the best revenue out of Adsense if the topics targeted have sufficient number of ads available.
  • Target decent or moderate paying keywords as your specific niche. Sites targeting highest paying keywords will find it difficult to rank well because of the high competition from established sites.
  • Older websites generate better ads revenue simply because it will rank better in search engines and the ads will become more relevant (relevant ads have better click-throughs).
  • Use Tracking Channels in Google Adsense program to study the ads that make the most money, best performing sites (if you have more than one), and ads placement. Make sure to let those ads run for a week and compare results on a weekly basis to see what ads work best.
  • Blend ads with site content (e.g. create ads without borders close to content). It's best that ads links should be different from the content colors to increase click-throughs. Randomizing ads link colors frequently is also a good practice so that frequent readers don't filter the ads.
  • To serve the most expensive ads on your site, compromise with the number of ads displayed. This is because the value per ads decreases as you increase the number of ads displayed (up to a max of three ads units).
  • Ads placed on hot spots and without scrolling will generate higher click-throughs (according to Google). Based on this hot spots map, the best place is near the beginning of the content. Experiment with the type of ads (text or image) to see which works best.
  • According to Google, the best ads sizes with highest click-throughs are the 336 x 280, the 300 x 250, and the 160 x 600, but these may be different for different web layout. Again experiment with these yourself to see which works best.

Following on the five tips on AdSense for content optimization

Following on the five tips on AdSense for content optimization our Sydney team presented a couple weeks back, now let's turn to AdSense for search. As you may know, we recently integrated Custom Search Engine into AdSense for search to provide additional customization options and improved targeting. Whether you've already implemented an AdSense for search box on your site or you're just getting started with this feature, we recommend these five optimization tips:

1. Place your search boxes in visible locations.

Integrate your search boxes in easy-to-find locations, such as under the header or in your left navigation. Also, keep the placement of your search boxes consistent on all your pages, so users will know where to look if they need help finding something.

2. Add two search boxes to content-rich pages.

For pages with a lot of content or which require scrolling, try placing one search box at the top of the page and another at the bottom. A box at the top of the page will allow users to perform a search immediately, and a box at the bottom will provide a search option to users who've just finished reading your content. You can also track and compare the performance of each search box by creating custom channels.

3. Host your search results on your own site.

To keep users on your pages, you can host your search results and ads within your own pages. If your users don't find what they're looking for in the search results or ads, they'll still be able to to navigate to other sections of your site using your site's template. In addition, you can further integrate your search results into your site by customizing the colors of the results page.

4. Add a search box to your search results pages.

Similar to #3, try placing a search box on your search results pages so users can perform additional searches from your site.

5. Customize your ad locations.

Place ads at the top and right sidebar of your search results pages. This layout offers added visibility, and our tests have shown that these ad locations can improve monetization.

After you've optimized where search boxes are placed on your site, don't forget to try new targeting options such as keyword refinements and vertical search. To generate AdSense for search code and take advantage of these features, sign in and visit your AdSense Setup tab. You can also find more information in our Help Center.

Tips How to Optimize Adsense

Adsense is an advertisement program created by Google. Web sites can make money from Adsense by placing Adsense ads on their pages. They make money when visitors to the site view or click on the ad. This page is a guide on how to optimize Adsense.
Google's advertisement program Adsense is a way for Web sites to make money by using the program to easily incorporate ads into the site pages. Google Adsense can be especially useful for smaller companies that don't have a specific department or position to create and sell advertisement space on their site.

Step 1: Adsense Basics

* Google Adsense users can choose between two different options for general Adsense use. They can also combine these.

1. Users can get paid on a per-click basis when visitors to the site click on an ad.
2. They can get paid on a per-impression basis when a visitor view a page that has an ad on it.
3. Google Adsense also has several other programs. This page covers the Adsense for content, that is using Adsense by displaying ads on Web site pages.

Step 2: Ad Placement and Design

* One of the most important aspects when using Adsense is the placement and design of the ad.

1. Google Adsense generally recommends that ads are placed and designed so they are similar to the Web site colors and design, as users are more likely to look at and click on unobtrusive ads.
2. Although the ads should not stick out too much on your page, designing Web site content so it mimics the ad design is not permitted. Users should be able to easily tell ads and content apart.
3. It's often best to use the same color for the ad's and site's background, or a color that is dominant on the page.
4. For Web sites with dark background, Google recommends using ads with a background that contrast the color instead.
5. The location of the ad is important as well. Placing ads on the top of the page can improve visibility, but can also decrease the quality of the user's experience when visiting your site.
6. If most of the Web site visitors are returning users, you should change the placement and colors of the ads on a a regular basis.
7. If you have a small Web site with only a few pages, consider building extra pages such as "contact us" and "about us", which will be useful for the visitor and also create more pages for ads.

Step 3: Keywords and Top Searches

* Another way to optimize Adsense is to incorporate top searched terms and high paying keywords into your pages.

1. There are a variety of tools available to find out top searches on the Internet.
2. There are also a variety of tools to find out which keywords pay higher than others. You can sign up to Google Adwords program to learn more about the difference between keywords.
3. Your main concern when creating content should be the user experience, not increasing ad revenue. Building a site around ads is not permitted according to Google Adsense standards. Also remember that users will also not return to a site that does not have quality content.

Step 4: Increasing Traffic

* Increasing traffic to your Web site should be a major concern when attempting to optimize revenue room Adsense.

1. Creating quality content and a pleasant and inviting design are main components of encouraging visitors to return to your site.
2. Learn more about search engine optimization, which determines where your Web site pages are ranked in search engine results.
